For any snazzy Facebook page, you’ll want to make a Facebook cover photo to showcase your brand and take advantage of this huge canvas of space. Today we’re going to create a Facebook cover photo with the free online photo editor Canva.
If you want to create a cover photo in a different program, the dimensions are 851 by 315px.
Create a Facebook Cover Photo
1. Start by signing up for an account and logging in (you may need to be invited).
Once you’re on the dashboard click on the Facebook cover photo option.
2. There are lots of templates on the left hand side that you can use to make this process easier, but since all you have to do for those is just click on the template, we’re going to make a cover photo from scratch. 🙂
So start by clicking on background. Then either choose a color or one of their photos, or upload your own photo on the sidebar to use as a background image. Here’s what I picked:
3. Next click on Text on the side. Then you can either choose one of their setups or type in your own text. I chose a banner. 🙂
Then click on the text to add your own. Remember that there is about a one inch square on the left side for the logo on your Facebook page, so leave space for that.
4. Now click on Link & Publish in the upper right hand corner. Click on Publish – Image, and then download your new Facebook cover photo! 🙂 Done!
